How to Spellcheck an Entire Website

Home » Web Crawler News

This demo of the InterroBot Spellcheck report describes the process of spellchecking a complete website, building a custom dictionary in the process, and validating database and template copy corrections.

With the arrival of InterroBot 2.5, spellchecking an entire website is no problem. A new built-in utility, Spellcheck, leverages the InterroBot crawl data to compile a list of spelling irregularities in seconds.

There are two ways to use the included Spellcheck report, in a practical sense. Depending on whether you plan on returning to the spellcheck the same website in the future or not, you can commit the time to building a custom, persistent dictionary.

If your intention is more along the line of a one-time sweep, you may find it easier to only add common terms to the dictionary, and scan the remainder with a higher per-page option.

Either way, you are welcome to take InterroBot 2.5 for a 14-day trial... plenty of time to kick the tires on the Spellcheck report. After the trial, you can continue to use Personal Edition for non-commercial use or purchase a license.

What Makes InterroBot Website Spellcheck Special?

The Spellcheck report was built from the ground up to be used by web-devs and CMS administrators. It is a "power tool" that knows its audience. InterroBot Spellcheck is a fast, versatile utility. Of course, you may also be interested in one of the 4 supported languages:

  • English (US, UK)
  • Spanish (ES, MX)
  • French (FR)
  • Russian (RU)

Licensed users only: if you don't see your language here, let me know which it is (feedback form, Options button in-app). Each Hunspell language pack has its own open source license, many of which I'm unable to ship with the installer for legal reasons. Additionally, not all languages will work perfectly with the implementation. That said, I'll see what I can do.

InterroBot is a web crawler and devtool for Windows 10/11.
